Two years ago, Reed Jackson betrayed Calliope Thorne and broke her heart. So she stole his most prized possession – a white mustang – and drove it into the lake for revenge.

Now, Callie is stuck at a reform school while Reed is off at college, living his life without repercussions.

Until he comes back.

With him comes back all the feelings that Callie has been trying to bury: anger and heartbreak.

But most of all, desire. At the sight of his beautiful but lying lips and his gunmetal gray eyes that still taunt and smolder when he looks at her.

Whatever though. It’s not as if Callie is ever going to fall for her ex-boyfriend again. Or let him corner her in a bar one night and touch her, kiss her…

Neither is she going to kiss him back. Or worse, sleep with him.

Because that would make her naïve and foolish.

Oh, and also pregnant.

And there’s no way Callie is ever going to get pregnant at eighteen and with Reed’s baby, no less. The guy she hates.

The guy who taught her all about heartbreak. Who might look like a gorgeous hero but really is the villain of her story.

a gorgeous villain

by saffron a. kent

Saffron A. Kent is a brilliant storyteller and a true literary genius when it comes to her beautifully poetic forbidden romances that manage to consume every inch of your soul as you inhale all the words of her epic tales. This author writes in such a way that her words leave you utterly breathless as you fall hopelessly in love with her unique characters.

A Gorgeous Villain is the second standalone in the addictively forbidden St. Mary's Rebels series that Saffron A. Kent so beautifully constructed. Reed Roman Jackson and Calliope "Callie" Juliet Thorne's rollercoaster kind of romance will leave you an emotional mess as you find yourself wholeheartedly captivated by every twist and turn that their journey throws at you. These characters know how to pull on your heartstrings and leave you completely obsessed with them. He is her Roman and she is his Fae.

Reed and Callie's complicated past comes to light in their prequel novella, The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy, that is used to foreshadow the events leading up to their highly anticipated full length novel, A Gorgeous Villain. The author reveal's all the juicy details of how Reed and Callie's journey first began and how this modern day Romeo and Juliet love story came to its heartbreaking end. This novella helps readers to better understand why Callie became a student at St. Mary’s School for Troubled Teenagers, an all-girls reform school, and why her hatred for Reed came to be. In my opinion, this novella was a real eye-opener that allowed us to form a deeper connection with the characters.

Fast-forwarding two years later, Callie is now a senior at St. Mary's and Reed is back home (much to his dismay). When they run into each other one night, there is no denying those past feelings that soon begin to resurface and it's impossible to stop their explosive chemistry from reigniting that old romantic flame that once burnt so bright. Through the author's poetic storytelling, you can feel their connection deep in your bones as your heart aches for their happiness. Reed and Callie's souls are soon intertwined again, and no matter how much they try to fight it, there is no stopping their hearts from reconnecting. When a single night of passion results in an unexpected pregnancy, readers have the opportunity to experience a growth among the characters as the navigate into adulthood.

Saffron A. Kent once again delivers a phenomenal story that leaves you with a massive book hangover for days after reaching the end. I absolutely adored everything about this forbidden romance and that surprise baby twist! AND...I cannot freaking wait to get my hands on Bronwyn "Wyn" Littleton and Conrad Thorne's story, These Thorn Kisses, the next standalone in the St. Mary's Rebels series because it is sure to have more twists and turns than ever before!
