Jonah Daniels has enough work preparing for his hockey season without spending time interviewing a roommate to help share expenses. So when some dude answers J.D.’s ad and agrees to his terms, he puts a key under the mat and leaves for practice.
What he doesn’t expect is that his new roommate is not a dude at all, but an overtalkative, energetic hottie. What’s worse? She’s the younger sister of his friend on the team, and she’s sworn him to secrecy.
Ryann Reiner needs a place to live, stat. After an incident at the dorms that almost tanked her scholarship, Ryann wants a boring roommate who’ll leave her alone. J.D. almost fits the bill. He lives and breathes hockey, just like her brother, and he wouldn’t know a joke unless it hip checked him against the boards.
He’s also gorgeous. And broody. And he looks fine on laundry day, in too little clothing. Soon, late-night study sessions turn into dangerous flirting. And then a kiss turns into more. But they’re determined to keep things in the feelings-free zone.
Until lines blur and tensions rise when Ryann’s brother learns the truth. And both their hearts are skating on thin ice...

Holdout by Jaqueline Snowe is the third interconnected standalone in the MOO U series (connected to Sarina Bowen's World of True North universe) and let me just say that these stories just keep getting better and better. This author's writing was absolutely addictive and I found myself falling more in love with this world full of sexy college hockey players. She might be a new author to me, but she has found herself a new reader and I cannot wait to check out some of her other releases because her writing drew me in right from the start and I was utterly captivated the entire time I was devouring all the words. This adorable roommates-to-lovers romance pulled tight on all my heartstrings and I absolutely adored the slight forbidden aspect of their relationship.
Jonah Daniels (aka J.D.) and Ryann Reiner's roommate situation is a little (okay more like a LOT) complicated, especially when it turns out she's actually a girl (yep that extra "n" in her name was missed) and his teammates little sister. Although conflicted with the situation in the beginning, they soon realize that they both neither each other and an arrangement to remain "secret" roommates for the time being. Oh and don't even get me started on the sparks that were so obviously flowing early on, although neither one of them wanted to cross the line, but once they did there was no turning back and their explosive chemistry set everything into motion. Secrets can only stay secrets for so long and soon all will be revealed.
These authors involved in the Moo U universe have already done such a fantastic job setting the stage and introducing us to some of the players that will be featured in future stories from this series. Although each author involved obviously has their own unique voice when it comes to their storytelling and character development, they have all been able to connect each story so effortlessly. I am already counting down the days until I can get the next set of Moo U series because I am so excited for more in this world!
