If looks could kill, I’d be a charred pile of ash on the sidewalk.
I need to know why she hates me.
Bay Bishop aka The New Girl is my new neighbor. In her glasses and stage crew black clothes she has a knack for fading into the background.
She’s probably the only one who rolls her eyes when I walk past instead of cheering on my last touchdown play. But before I can shove her into the recesses of my mind filed under “Not my problem” she lands herself smack dab in the middle of my dreams.
I catch her singing with a voice unlike any I’ve heard before that taps into feelings I shouldn’t have for the girl who avoids me at all costs.
With three months until graduation, the final play is on. Only it’s not for more points. It’s for Bay.
Unlike my success on the field, this win is anything but assured. But I can’t stop myself from taking the risk.
There’s no flashing scoreboard.
There’s no cheering crowd.
There’s only her and me.
The countdown clock is ticking. The only thing scarier about finding my first love will be losing her.
the art of falling for you
by maya hughes
The Art of Falling For You is the start of something beautiful and it is just the beginning of Bay and Dare's sure to be epic love story. Maya Hughes is a brilliant storyteller that manages to consume your soul and leave you swooning throughout every moment of the journey she takes you on. There is never a dull moment with her characters or storyline and I absolutely love getting lost in her words.
Bay and Dare's lives have not been easy and my heart wept for them at times. These two damaged souls have had their own complicated pasts, but together they slowly begin to heal. These two brought out the best parts of each other and I was literally swooning the entire time while devouring their story. Oh and I cannot even tell you how on edge I was leading up to that cliffhanger.
Maya Hughes starts by telling us the story of how Bay and Dare met and fell in love in high school and the unexpected downfall that led to their break up. I love a good second chance romance and I am ALWAYS saying that I wish we could have seen how it all began and what caused them to break up. I am already counting down the days until I can get my hands on the next book. I am ready for these two to fight their way back to a happily ever after!
